Game Preview: Texas vs. Michigan – Ewers Faces Tough Wolverines Defense
Texas and starting QB, Quinn Ewers, travel to Ann Arbor on Saturday for a showdown with the Michigan Wolverines’ stout defense. Texas has been steamed as a favorite from -3.5 all the way to -7.5. I see Michigan putting up a serious fight in this contest, even with an unproven offense. I think their front four will neutralize the Texas run game and force Texas to throw, giving ample opportunities to make a play and cover this prop line.

This is a different Michigan defense this season, returning only 5 starters from last season’s dominant unit. That being said, there are playmakers and pros at all three levels with star players at defensive tackle and corner to challenge the Texas offensive attack. This unit is still evolving but has the pieces to dominate and take the ball away in a similar fashion to last year’s squad.

While Ewers has shown the ability to perform under pressure in hostile environments, including a 3 TD, 0 INT game last year in a win at Alabama, I think Saturday will be different in Ann Arbor against potentially the best defense he has ever faced. As if Michigan didn’t need any extra motivation coming off their undefeated National Title season as sizeable home underdogs, they’ve got it; Ewers originally went to Ohio State before transferring to Texas. He never got his shot at Michigan, and more importantly, they never got their shot at him. Shots will be fired on Saturday in the Big House.
